George Agy, 59, 152 Third Avenue East, Milan, died at 12:20 PM Saturday, Aug 11, 1951, in his home following an illness of two months.
Born in Spartan, MO, May 9, 1892, the son of Samuel T. and Jeanette Woolever Agy, he moved with his family to Illinois at the age of seven, settling in Aledo. He attended the schools of Aledo. He was first married to Julia Clarissa Murdock, and on June 28, 1923, married Pearl Waterworth. He had been a resident of Milan for 31 years.
Mr. Agy was employed as a crate maker at the Sword-Morton Veneer and Lumber Co., Rock Island. He was a member of the Jesus Only Church, Ginger Hill.
Surviving, beside the widow, are w sons, Samuel T., Milan, and Vaughn Leroy, Washington, D.C.; a stepson, Raymond Heilwagner, Milan; 2 brothers, Otto R., Davenport, and Charles, California; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Riley (Cora May)Murdock, Albin, IA, and Mrs. Grant(Bernice Lillian) Smith, Auburn, IL. A brother, Charles Everett Agy, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Larsen funeral home, Milan, on Monday at 2 p. with the Rev. Obie Hall, Moline, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
