Amanda Loftis Gaither was born 1846 to Barton o. Loftis and Elizabeth Johnson Loftis. She was on the 1850 census in Van Buren County Arkansas as age 3 living with her parents, sister Polly age 6, John Taylor age 9. She is on the 1860 cenus VBC as age 14 and on the !870 census as age 23. She married William B. Gaither July 10, 1870 in Van Buren County, Arkansas. We don't know for sure where she is buried. A lot of the Loftis family is buried at Quattlebaum, but they do not have her listed. Her husband William B. Gaither is buried at Fairbanks Cemetery, VBC. We think she died in 1878 when her daughter Malissa was born, but we know William was a widower by the 1880 census.
