Was Long Time Resident of Creighton Burial Here Tuesday
Mrs. Ave Kimball, for many years a resident of Creighton, died at a hospital in Casper, Wyoming, on last Saturday afternoon, after a lingering illness at the age of 82 years.
Mrs. Kimball was a native of New York state, later coming to Creighton, where she resided until five years ago, when she moved to Casper and has made her home since with a daughter, Mrs. Frank Hufsmith.
On July 16, 1873, she was married to Harry J. Kimball. With her husband, she resided in Washington, D.C. for several years and in 1886 came to Nebraska and resided near Niobrara for one year, when her husband was an industrial teacher on the Indian reservation. In 1887 they moved to Creighton and this was her home for forty-three years.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank Hufsmith, Casper, Wyo. and Mrs. W.F. Rafferty of Chicago, Ill.; one son, Harry J. Kimball of Los Angeles, Calif. and two granddaughters, Mrs. Ava Hays and Mrs. J.B. Walker, both of Casper.
The remains arrived in Creighton on Tuesday's afternoon train and they were taken to Greenwood cemetery, where short services were held, conducted by Rev. R.B.E. Hill, pastor of the M.E. church. The body was laid to rest beside her husband, who preceded her in death five years ago.
Here for the service and interment were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hufsmith and Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Walker of Casper and Mrs. and Mrs. W.F. Raffery of Chicago.
