Dies After Short Illness

David F. Johnson, 83, died Wednesday, June 18, at the local hospital following a brief illness. He had been living at the Creighton Care Centre.

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Waldo Pierson, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Scheer, Harry Lafrenz, Blayne Doerr, Dean Albin, Lawrence Vogt and Waymond Finke.

David F. Johnson was born at West Point April 15, 1886. He married Anna Moeller. They lived in Nebraska, including Creighton, until 1931, when they moved to Winner, S.D. They returned to Creighton in 1954.

Mr. Johnson was an electrical engineer. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Abbot Tyler of Creighton, Fern B. Meredith of Las Vegas, Neb., Herbert J. of Everett, Wash. and Herman O. of Norfolk; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and two brothers, Elmer and Ted Johnson of Omaha.
