Reverend Paul Banitt officiated with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Weldon Zepf, Rog Bonnesen, Lyle Nielsen, Randall Rees, Scot Bonnesen and Ronald Nielsen.
Anna J. Bonnesen was born May 30, 1886, the daughter of Jacob and Carrie Hansen.
She received her education at the rural school in the Sparta district. She also attended Dana College.
On November 20, 1913 she was united in marriage to Marius Bonnesen. To this union four children were born. They retired from farming in the spring of 1947 and moved to Creighton. Her husband died in 1963. She lived alone and enjoyed good health until suffering a stroke on February 24, 1985. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her four children, Mrs. Oliver (Emma) Mathiasen, Mrs. Vera Zepf of Creighton, Hans Bonnesen of Verdigre and Mrs. Daniel (Carrie) Rees of Avoca, Ia., eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, three nephews, three nieces and one cousin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, one brother and one great grandchild.
