*Enlisted for 3 years. Promoted to Sgt Oct 1863. Taken prisoner at Trevillian Station, VA 11 Jun 1864. Released 6 Feb 1865. Promoted to 1st Sgt 2 May 1865. Mustered out at Fort Leavenworth, KS 19 Jun 1865. He was wounded (shot in the groin) at Buckland Mills, VA 19 Oct 1863. He stated it was in Sept 1863 but his memory was off a little. Member of the Monroe G.A.R. Post. (GSMC)

Egbert Webb and three brothers, James, Rollin/Robert, and William H. served in the Civil War. They were the sons of Henry Webb and Julia (Cole) Webb.
