Nov 5, 1970 - Algona Upper Des Moines - John W. Puffer, 57, of Corwith, died at his farm home Saturday afternoon following an apparent heart attack. Services were held at 10;30 a.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church with burial in the Corwith cemetery. Masonic rites were conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Blake Funeral chapel.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, John, Ankeny, and Ronald Davenport; a daughter, Jane at home; two brothers, Phillip, Corwith, and Paul, Jefferson.

Mr. Puffer was born in Texas and came to the Corwith area at the age of two. He married Erma M. Frey in 1939. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 503 AF & AM and a member of the board of directors of the Corwith ... illegible.
