March 12, 1979 - Kossuth County Advance - Mrs. Philip (Norma) Puffer, 67, of Corwith, died Wednesday, March 7, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester where she had been a patient since Feb. 13. Funeral service for Mrs. Puffer was held about 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church at Corwith with Rev. Ted Wiedman officiating. Burial was in the Corwith Cemetery, Blake's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Donald Hampe, William Mayers, Charles Schultz, George Schultz, Bryan Fish and James Wilhite. Those who were honorary bearers were Warren McIntire, Neal Wildman, John Adams, Sr., Reuben Peterson,
Harvey Hankins and Armin Tabb.

Norma Mansmith Puffer, daughter of Chauncey and Bertha Davidson Mansmith, was born at Burt, Ia. Nov. 22, 1911. She attended school in Burt and was married there to Philip Puffer Sept. 6, 1933. The Puffers have farmed near Corwith since their marriage. Mrs. Puffer was formerly a 4-H leader, was active in the Corwith Women's Club, and enjoyed handwork of all kinds. She formerly taught knitting.

She is survived by her husband, Philip; one daughter, Peggy, Mrs. Kenneth Williams of Apple Valley, Minn.; and two sons, Jerry Puffer of Algona and Joel Puffer of Savage, Minn. There are 10 grandchildren. Two sisters and one brother also survive: Bessie Hartman of Crete, Illinois; Lydia, Mrs. George Manus of Burt; and Melborne Mansmith, Justice, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.
