In 1885, Robert along with his parents & siblings, is found in Pittsburg, Kansas at the age of 6 & by the late 1890s, was working the coal mines himself.
He married Grace Elizabeth Santrock in 1905 and they had 5 known children that were all born near Florence, Colorado. The records show that this family followed the work of the railroads & coal mines to Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico, where he worked as a machinist for the Colorado Fuel & Iron Company.
He moved to Akron, Ohio around 1921 to find work, and the family followed him soon after. He worked for the rubber factory there until his death in 1926.
