Mike Himmelspach
A retired Oliver County farmer, Michael Himmelspach, 67, 207 First St. N.E., Mandan, died Tuesday in a Bismarck hospital.
Mr. Himmelspach was born Nov. 17, 1902, in Russia, the son of Frank and Wilhelmina (Froelich) Himmelspach. He came to the United States with his parents in 1904, and married Veronica Doll at Glen Ullin June 23, 1925.
The couple farmed in Oliver County until they retired and moved to Mandan in 1955. Mrs. Himmelspach died Nov. 29, 1966.
He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Matt (Betty) Yantzer, and three sons, Anton, Martin and Peter, all of Mandan. He also leaves three brothers, George, Albin, and Joe, Mandan, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Gaab, Richardton, and Mrs. Pete Stein, Billings, Mont.
He was a member of ST. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Mandan Knights of Columbus Lodge.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. James Tuxbury officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Clarence Doll, Thomas and David Himmelspach, Peter Bauer, Eugene Emter and Art Wolf.
The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m Friday at the Hoenig Funeral Home, Mandan, and friends may call after 4 p.m., Thursday until the time of services.
