Monica Annette (Strangeway) Fleming, 41, of Anderson, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Saint John's Medical Center after an almost four-year battle with brain cancer.

She was born Sept. 23, 1970, in Anderson. She was a lifelong Anderson resident, graduating from Highland High School in 1988.

She was employed by Pay Less Super Markets for 19 years. She dedicated a good portion of her life to Pay Less Super Markets, working at every store in town. This is how she came to meet her loving husband, Donald. They had a private wedding on her favorite bridge, The Golden Gate, in San Francisco in 1996. In 2007, she went back to school with hopes of becoming a history teacher.

She was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in August of 2008. Monica, aka Wonder Woman, was an inspiration to anyone who knew her. She loved Air Supply, Willie Nelson and Stevie Nicks. Most of all, Monica loved spending time with her husband, Don, and two sons, Hayden, 13, and Connor, 10.

One of Monica's favorite quotes was "Live life passionately, laugh until your belly hurts and love unconditionally."

She enjoyed attending Riverfield baseball games that her children played and vacationing on the Outer Banks. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her husband and sons, she is survived by two sisters, Kathy Temple of Squim, Wash., and Melissa (husband Richard) Biehl of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, James (wife Carlyn) Strangeway of Anderson; brother-in-law, Steve (wife Debbie) Fleming of Lafayette; sister-in-law, Vicki Yorio of Cincinnati, Ohio; her father, James Strangeway of Anderson; mother-in-law, Joan Fleming of Middletown; stepfather, Gary (wife, Sherry) Skinner of Middletown; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends.

She was preceded in death her mother, Karen Strangeway Skinner; and her father-in-law, Billie Fleming.

Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Middletown.
