Raymond P. Demorest was a son of Mabel Lundberg and Howard Demorest. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Les and Kenny Demorest. He is survived by his wife, whom he married in Minneapolis on May 23, 1954.

He is also survived by his children, Mark (Pat) Demorest, Linda (Jon) Davis and Glen (Marcia) Demorest; grandchildren, Melissa (Jeff Leduc) Demorest, Matthew (Sara) Demorest, Kristin (Michael) Hayes, Ryan Demorest, Kevin (Katie) Demorest, Randi (Tomas) Izdonavicius, Nicholas Demorest, Leann Demorest and Emily Demorest; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Colby, and Madeleine and sister, Dora Rotondo.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was on Okinawa the second day of invasion. After the war, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. During the Vietnam War, he was NCO in charge of the Casualty Staging Unit at Travis Air Force Base in California. He retired from the military after 25 years in September 1972.
