Hulbert Palmer
A long life was ended on the 10th when Hulbert Palmer passed away at the beginning of his 91st year. His whole life passed in this place as he was born on the farm where he died.
His grandfather was among the first settlers in this vicinity and cleared a spot to build the log house where Mr. Palmer first saw the light of day. His father died when he was a lad about eight years old, leaving his wife and four children, just at the time he had begun to erect the frame home now standing and where Mr. Palmer brought his bride 65 years ago.
The funeral was held at the home Thursday afternoon, and burial was in Hannibal by the side of two of his children, who died in their infancy. A long line of friends followed him to his resting place. May he rest in peace.
