Records say that Valentine Robbins came to Sandy Creek from Connecticut and bought this house about 1836. He married Permelia (or Pamelia) Harding, whose father, George Harding, came, to Sandy Creek in 1805. Valentine and Pamelia are buried in Woodlawn cemetery. He died in December 1851, aged 59, but Pamelia lived to be 89.

In Chrisfield Johnson's "History of Oswego Couniy", published in 1877, the statement is made: "That spring (1805) George
Harding located in the same neighborhood. With him came his daughter, Parmelia, a girl of 14, now Mrs. Pamelia Robbins"
