Member of the 831st Bomb Squadron, 485th Bomb Group, U.S. Army Air Forces.

The Liberty ship he was aboard, the
S.S. Paul Hamilton, bound for Italy,
was attacked by 23 German bombers off
Algiers, in the Mediterranean Sea.

The ship exploded and sank in 30 seconds with the loss of all aboard.
