Eighth child of Booker and Sarah (Sally) Stover Bailey. His siblings were Emily, Cynthia, Malinda, Jane, Araminta, Susan, Alethia, John, Booker Jr, and Marshall.
Like his father, he was a farmer.

Paris lived a long full life, surviving several wives, including:
Octavia Rogers (md 1871), the mother of his children;
Letitia "Tessie" Warden (md Nov 24, 1917 - he was 65 and she was 62), and
Josie Sweeney Christian (md 1926 - he was 74 and she was 51).

Paris and Octavia had seven children:

Ida Cora Bailey (Warden) b 1873
William Arthur Bailey b 1877
Walter Langdon Bailey b 1879
Dora May Bailey (Marshall/Duesenberry/Farley) b 1881
