Dolores L. Albright
BENNINGTON -- Dolores L. Albright, 59, a resident of Bennington, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2005 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
She was born in Oklahoma on June 8, 1946, the daughter of Leonard and Margaret Sniffen and attended local schools. Dolores worked as a home health care professional as a personal care attendant for the state of Vermont.
Known affectionately as a mother to Bennington, she often accepted less fortunate children into her home her whole life. She enjoyed socializing with people and loved talking with her sister Cindy, who was also her best friend, on a daily basis for more than 20 years. She enjoyed writing children's stories and cherished times spent with her family.
She is survived by six sons, Dustin Albright of North Adams, Mass., Jeff Albright of Vernon, Conn., Ron Albright of Manchester, Conn., Seann Albright of Ocilla, Ga., BrandonAlbright of Rocky Hill, Conn., and Jason Albright of Bennington; her daughter, Shannon Albright of Woodford; two brothers, Mark Sniffen of Colorado and Leonard Sniffen of Idaho; her sister, Cindy Dausman of Running Springs, Calif.; and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Brian Albright who died June 11, 1993; two sisters, Shirley Hickson and Kathleen Sniffen, who died at birth.
Funeral services for Dolores will be held Friday Oct. 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington. There are no visiting hours.
Interment will follow in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Dolores's memory may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center c/o Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home P.O. Box 957 Bennington, VT 05201.
