He bought C&G Merchants Supply Co., and had worked as a sales representative and truck driver for Clemens and Green Wholesale for 21 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and was a member of the American Legion and the Paola Chamber of Commerce. Interment was at the Paola Cemetery under the direction of Wilson and Son Chapel.
