Dale L. McCarbery, age 96, of Britton, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born January 25, 1916, in Britton, the son of Charles and Wanda (Lembrick) McCarbery. He married Flois Self on March 18, 1973. Sadly she preceded him in death on July 13, 2000.
Dale was a graduate of Britton High School, Class of 1934. He owned and operated his own farm, something he loved doing and took great pride in. Dale also enjoyed woodworking and tending to the flowers and rose bushes in his garden.
Survivors include his son Allen (Jo) Kennedy of Tecumseh; his daughters Delores (Lee) Hannibal of Greenville and Barbara Hermanson of Adrian; his sisters Fern Morse and Joyce (LeRoy) Bater both of Tecumseh; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Flois; his parents; his sisters Wilma Tubbs and Doris Spohr; grandson Jeff Hannibal; and his great granddaughter Jenna Lerch.
Visitation will be at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home on Monday, June 18, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. On Tuesday, June 19, visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Richard Bruce officiating.
