Ronald (Ron) Wayne Corns
April 21, 1941 -June 21, 2012
Ron passed from this world Thursday, June 21, 2012 after a short hospitalization.
Ron was born in Ohio and upon graduation from high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served 6 years. After the Marines, Ron resided in Pensacola for several years.
In 1980 Ron met the love of his life, Earlene Parker Corns. They were married March 24, 1983 and the story began. Ron inherited three children, Sandra Wyrosdick (Craig) of Pace, Mark Cross (Yvette) of Perdido Key, and Tony Cross (Tonya) of Milton. He was Grandaddy Ron to Brittany (Alex), Whitney (Jake), Parker, Sydney (Dylan), Taylor, Lauren, Cameron, Sawyer and TJ. Ron was also Great Grandaddy Ron to Keagan and Kinley.
Ron and Earlene worked together at the Post Office and upon retirement had great plans to travel the world. However he lost Earlene in 2006 and had to figure out life without her.
Ron decided to volunteer at Santa Rosa Medical Center where he will be greatly missed. He also loved his square dancing friends, bowling friends and card playing friends. Ron was affectionately referred to as "Grumpy" but he loved his family and friends and could be generous beyond compare.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Sara Corns.
We love you and will miss you more than you could have ever imagined. Thank you for loving our "Mom" and all of us.
Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday, June 24, 2012 at National Cremation & Burial Society in Milton with service to follow at 4:00 PM in the Chapel. Interment will be in Memory Park Cemetery. National Cremation & Burial Society has been entrusted with the arrangements.
