Celestia was born January 26th, 1825. At the age of seventeen she married Wilson Burnside and commenced house keeping within one mile of her old home. She joined the Methodist church at the age of twenty. Wilson joined the church at the same time. They lived in their first home for four and one half years. During this time, Celestia's parents moved to Franklinville, Illinois and she was left alone with her own family: To them were born three children, Viola, Harley and Wilson. In May 1847 they moved to Franklinville, Illinois Viola died at the age of four years and Harley at the age of eight months. Wilson Burnside died May 31st, 1848, aged 25. They were all buried in the graveyard in Franklinville. Celestia was left with little Wilson and she returned to her father's home.
