"Charles Frederick Thompson, 65 years old, died today at the home, 5216 St. John avenue, after a 3-month illness. He was born in Collins, Mo. Mr. Thompson was a retired millwright, formerly employed by Montgomery Ward & Co. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Winnie B. Thompson of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Edwin Davis, 1108 West Waldo avenue, Independence; two sons, George C. Thompson and Roy Thompson of the home; a sister, Mrs. William A. Croweder, Brownington, Mo.; four brothers, Walter Thompson, Montebello, Calif.; Fred Thompson, San Francisco; Everett Thompson, 2011 East Thirty-fifth street and Harvey Thompson, Brownington, and two grandchildren." -Kansas City Star, 10-28-1946 p.6
