Scott R. McGinnis, 37, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Born July 31, 1974 in Lancaster, he was a son of Carroll "Mack" F. and Janet (Kreider) McGinnis of Holtwood. He will also be lovingly missed by his brother: ­Timothy I. McGinnis of ­Holtwood and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Scott was a member of Mount Nebo United Methodist Church. He was employed as a freelance ­Certified Public Accountant by various firms. He loved nature, especially hiking and camping. One of his proud achievements was hiking part of the Appalachian Trail. He also loved the New York sports teams, especially the NY Yankees. Scott was compassionate and caring, with a contagious smile, and had a big heart for the people in his life. Scott loved the Lord and had a strong Christian faith. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Mount Nebo United Methodist Church, 673 Martic Heights Dr., Pequea with Rev. Len ­Calhoun officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private and at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Nebo United Metho-dist Building Fund, 673 Martic Heights Dr., Pequea, PA 17565.
