James V. "Nick" Nichols, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away June 19, 2012. He was born June 26, 1924, in New Albany, IN, to the late Silas and Alpha Schreiber Nichols.
Nick served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Ruth G. Scharf, and was employed as a Technical Writer for Naval Avionics for over 34 years, retiring in 1983.
Nick is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruth Nichols; children, John (Linda) Nichols, Margaret (Mike) Longmire, Barbara (Dan) Danbom and Carol Junker; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren with one on the way.
Services entrusted to Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel.
