Masonic Funeal Conducted Sunday for Oscar F. Boerner
Funeral services for Oscar F. Boerner, Port Washington, who died at his home Thursday morning after a three week illness of pneumonia were held Sunday. A Masonic funeral was conducted at the Masonic Temple in Port Washington at 2:30 o'clock on Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Boerner was born in Cedarburg on October 24, 1869. In 1898 he was married to Miss Lulu Barelman of Milwaukee, at Milwaukee. Soon after their marriage they established their residence in Port Washington where they remained until 1902, when they moved to West Bend, where Mr. Boerner was affiliated with one of the Boerner Brothers Department Stores.
In 1912 they returned to Port Washington and have resided there ever since. He managed the Boerner Brothers store in Port Washington for many years. In the last election he was elected to his third term as register of deeds of Ozaukee county. He was a member of the board of education of the Port Washington schools for about fifteen years. Mr. Boerner was a member of the Eastern Star, and the Knights of Pythias
Surviving him are his widow, two sisters, Ida of Cedarburg, and Mrs. A.J. Quirin of Marcus, Iowa; three brothers, Albert of Cedarburg; Gustave of Tajunga, California and Rev. T.A. Boerner of Port Washington, and five children, Mrs. Clifford Jaquith of Milwaukee, Lynn of Cedarburg, Edward of Milwaukee, Quentin of Cass Lake, Minnesota, and Rachel of Port Washington.
Pallbearers were John Stephany, Paul Marquardt, Lester Smith, Walter Dunwiddie, Sam Gunther and Guy Hales. Interment was made in Union Cemetery.
