Mrs. Mary Weeks died April 14, 1897, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Spencer Breffle, near Gilbertsville, aged 76 years and eight months. Mrs. Weeks was formerly a resident of New Lisbon form many years, and being a kind hearted, genial lady won for herself many warm friends. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. H. Ostrander, of New Lisbon, Mrs. Albert Breffle of Otsego, and Mrs. Spencer Breffle of Gilbertsville, also two sisters and numerous other relatives to mourn her loss. The funeral was held in the Christian church, of which she was an esteemed member, last Saturday. Rev. Fox of the Baptist church, Morris officiating. She was laid at rest in the Laurens cemetery beside her husband who died three years ago.
