Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, at Crowder Baptist Church with burial in Crowder cemetery.
Mrs. Atkinson was born on January 29, 1918 in Abbeville, MS to Alvin Clark and Gertrude Brock Cobb. She was a homemaker and member of Crowder Baptist Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Brenda Atkinson Wiggs of Marks, MS, Betty Atkinson Flesher of Littleton, CO, Edna Sue Atkinson Watson of Waterford, MS, Frances Merle Atkinson Saunders of Denver, CO, Martha Atkinson Cannon of Batesville, MS; three sons, A.C. Atkinson of Batesville, MS, Van Atkinson of Birmingham, AL, and William Walter "Billy" Atkinson, Jr. of Batesville; 26 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great- grandchildren.
