A Mass of Christian burial for Lisa Kathleen Haenel, a ninth-grader at Old Mill High School, was to be offered at noon today at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 7436 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Glen Burnie.
A 14-year-old resident of the Southgate Apartments, she was found Saturday stabbed to death in a ravine near the school. Born in Washington but reared in Stuttgart, Germany, and Glen Burnie, she was a graduate of the Arthur Slade Regional Catholic School. An honor student at Old Mill, she played the flute and piccolo in the band and was a member of the drama club.
Survivors include her father, Randy L. Haenel of Stuttgart; her mother, Margaret S. Haenel of Glen Burnie; her grandparents, James and Dorothy Maher of White Plains, N.Y., Richard and Joan Dettlebach of St. Louis, Shirley Haenel of San Diego and Lotty Schweitzer of Frankfurt, Germany; and her great-grandparents, Katherine Campbell of Ossining, N.Y., and Anna Dettlebach and Beatrice Cornish, both of St. Louis.
