Albert J. Berhow

Albert J.Berhow, 85, passed away Dec. 8, 1966, at the Mercy Hospital in Mason City following a lingering illness. He was born July 28, 1881 in Blairsburg, and spent most of his life in Wright and Hancock County. He was a resident of I.O.O.F. home in Mason City for the past 2 ½ years. He was a member of the Kanawha Lutheran Church, I.O.O.F. lodge, and was a farmer and a carpenter. His parents were Oliver and Carrie Berhow. He married Bessie Carr on July 25, 1906. Mrs. Berhow precedes him in death.

He is survived by six daughters: Mrs. James (Clara) Jackson; Mrs. Marson (Verla) Nelson; Mrs. Albert (Ruth) Loispeich; Mrs. Arald (Edna) Riekens; Mrs. Anno (Edith) Terhark, and Mrs. Arthur (Ruby) Zeigler; two sons: Galen Berhow and James Berhow. There were 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, eight brothers and one sister.
