A. C. "Bud" Worthen, 68, of Murphysboro, died a 7:40 p.m. Monday, August 23, 1976, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro after an extended illness.
He was a retired farmer. He was born Oct. 14, 1906, in Murphysboro to Andrew and Lucinda Fraley Worthen. He married Virgie Lindsey on Dec. 30, 1925, in Waterloo. She survives.
Other survivors are a son, Jerry of Gorham; a brother, A. W. of Shelbina, Mo.; two sisters, Bess Johnson of Carbondale and Uba Baker of Murphysboro; and two grandchildren.
