Born Aug. 7, 1930, in Mendota, the daughter of Edward and Mary E. (Andrew) McBride.
Graduated in 1948, from Sterling High School, in 1952, with a B.S. degree from Northern Illinois University, and in 1959, with an M.S. degree from Colorado State University. Pat was a physical education, swimming and health instructor for 30 years, retiring in 1985 from the Rockford School District. She was an IHSA official in volleyball, basketball, track and field, cross country, field hockey and softball for more than 35 years. She also was an ASA boys fast-pitch official and a state official for boys and girls track and field in the 1980s and the grand marshal of East High School's track relays, in 1993. In 2010, Pat was inducted as a Sterling Schools Foundation Distinguished Alumni, class of 1948.
Survived by brother, William (Beverly) McBride and nieces and nephews, Mary (Tom) Allison, Doris (Jay) Clarkson, Pat (Melissa) Frankfother, Bill McBride, Mike (Katy) Frankfother, Joanne (Bill) Miatke, Laura (David) Michael, Rose (Dan) Kastrup, Tamela (Mark) Marta, Sue (Bob) Hamlink and Ruth Ann (Mike) Hardman.
Predeceased by her parents; sister, Shirley Frankfother; brother, James McBride; nephew, James and niece, Cathy.
Service at 2 p.m. Friday, June 22, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., with visitation from 1 to 1:45 p.m.; the Rev. Dan Herman, of Old Stone Congregational United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Sterling.
Memorials may be made to the Sterling Schools Foundation, 2804 W. LeFevre Rd., Sterling, IL 61081, where a scholarship has been established in Pat A. McBride's memory.
