Daniel Wayne Rouse, 55 of Macomb passed away at 10:34 a.m. Friday June, 15th, 2012 at the Riverside Regional Hospital in Newport News, Virginia
he was born October 29, 1956 in Macomb to Gorden and Barbara (Norris) Rouse.
He is survived by his mother Barbara Hoyt of Macomb and two brothers Rodney (Rita), David (Patty)Rouse of Macomb, nieces and nephew Rianne (Brian) Idstein, of Wheaton, Illinois, Jim (Jennifer) Rouse, Jennifer (Erik) Byers of Macomb, Erika (Gus) Norato of Hawaii, four great-nieces, three great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents Don and Dorothy Norris, Clyde and Ila Rouse, and his stepfather Blondell Hoyt.
Dan retired from WIU you men's athletic department after 30 years of service.
He volunteered his time as equipment manager for Macomb high school from his sophomore year in 1972 until his death. He always did his best, to keep the equipment in good condition and the stats correct.
After much research of men's sports at MHS band published a book with all the stats for all the players starting with 1910.
He was working on a second book to include pictures and stats for MHS women's sports.
Dan was very proud of his many plaques and honors including citizens of the year, grand Marshal of MHS homecoming parade in being inducted into the Illinois basketball Hall of Fame.
Dan especially enjoyed working with all the coaches and players through the years. He considered them as his second family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Macomb with Reverend Dr. Howard White officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.
