Laurine Alethia Robinson Bennett-Moore found her much deserved rest in the Lord after a brief illness at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

She was the only child of Laura Reaves Robinson and the late Willard A. Robinson. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia, she was educated in public schools and received her B.S. in Education from St. Paul's College in Lawrenceville, Virginia, Master's in Education and Ed.S degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, and furthered her education at Catholic University in Washington, D.C. Laurine retired from Charlottesville City Schools where she impacted the lives of countless students. She also served as the TeenSight Coordinator for FOCUS Women's Resource Center and worked as a job trainer for the Drewary Brown Job Training Center (MACAA). Laurine enjoyed her work at the Mount Zion First African Baptist Church. She was a member of the junior choir, the Social (Hospitality) Club, was the first female trustee to be ordained there, and was recently ordained a Deaconess. She served on various boards in the community which involved children and was an avid reader. She was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and a member of the Eta Phi Omega Chapter. Laurine was recently preceded in death by her husband, Preston L. Moore Sr.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother; her devoted daughter, Alethia and Kevin Wilkins of Maryland; stepson, Preston Moore Jr. and Yolanda of Maryland; her beloved grandchildren, Alexander, Tiara and Zaria; two uncles, Robert Robinson of D.C. and Edward Robinson and Dolly of Virginia; two aunts, Jean Oliver of Maryland, and Betty Banks of Georgia; mother-in-law, Willie Mae Moore of North Carolina; three brothers-in-law, a host of cousins, adopted children, and close friends.

The family received friends Friday, June 22, 2012, at Mount Zion First African Baptist Church, 105 Lankford Avenue, Charlottesville, Virginia. A viewing was held Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the church followed by a graveside service.
