LAKE CITY -- Mr. Donald 'Don' Robert Reed, 57, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2002, in a Lake City hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1 at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel in Olanta with burial in Old Piney Grove Cemetery near Lake City. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Archie Luke Reed and Bertie Sims Reed. He was retired from Santee Printworks in Sumter.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lula Joe Morris; a brother, Earl Reed; and three stepbrothers, Ollie Floyd, Jack Floyd and Joe Floyd.
Surviving are his wife, Winnie L. Floyd Reed of Lake City; daughters, Jazmyne Reed of Lake City and Tracy R. (Paul) Evans of McBee; sons, Donald Robert (Sheila) Reed, Jr. of Galivants Ferry and Shawn (Penny) Reed of Hartsville; stepdaughters, LaHoma Floyd and Lisa Floyd, both of Lake City; a stepson, Ervin (Shannon) Floyd of Lake City; a sister, Belvadine Broach of Lake City; brothers, Jack (Juanita) Reed of Lake City, Parnell (Modell) Reed and Junior (Sandi) Reed, both of Sumter; stepsisters, Millie Driggers of Sumter and Judy Feagins of Georgetown; a stepbrother, Sollie Floyd of Timmonsville; and seven grandchildren.
