Funeral Mass to be held on June 9th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survived by his four children; nine grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor K. Johnson (died 2009), his parents Roy and Ruth (Pitman) Johnson, and three brothers.
Bill had many passions in life, including Eleanor, his wife of 66 years; fly fishing, painting, sculpting, and the great state of Colorado. Bill served in the Coast Guard during World War II, spending his time in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He later retired from U.S. Civil Service. He spent many years painting, sculpting, and drawing art that showed his appreciate of his western heritage. Many of his pieces adorn homes in Colorado Springs and other cities. He was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Parish and involved in many parish ministries, including the Marian House Soup Kitchen.
