MARIE STOKES
Marie Stokes, age 96, formerly of 830 N. Fifth St., Manitowoc, died Thursday morning, Aug. 7, 2003, at Harmony West, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Wojciechowski O.F.M. with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Branch.
Marie was born on Jan. 30, 1907, in Algoma, daughter of the late Anthony and Dora Strard Chapek. On Jan. 3, 1942, she married Frank Stokes in Manitowoc.
After their marriage the couple settled in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1993.
Survivors include a sister-in-law: Jeanette Stokes, Kewaunee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Anna and Ruth; and one brother: Joseph.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc, on Tuesday morning, Aug. 12, 2003 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
