Mrs. Carl J. (Olive) Laveck, age 91, of 3400 Yorkshire La., Manitowoc, and formerly of Branch, died Saturday morning, Feb. 5, 2005 at the Aurora Baycare Medical Center, Green Bay.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005 at the First Reformed United Church of Christ, 3616 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc. The Rev. Richad Runge will officiate with burial to follow at Branch Evergreen Cemetery.
Audrey was born Sept. 6, 113 at Branch, daughter of the late Frank and Emma Sykora Kutil. She graduated from Manitowoc’s Lincoln High School in 1931 and in 1932 from the Manitowoc Teachers College. She taught school in the Town of Franklin and was later employed with the Agricultural Adjustment Administration predecessor to the United States Department of Agriculture. On July 15, 1943 Olive was married to Carl J. Laveck at Harrisburg, PA and celebrated 61 years of marriage this past July. While her children were in school Olive was a stay at home mom. Later she worked as an office manager of Pyrofax Gas Company and retired from the Manitowoc Clinic in 1975 where she was credit manager. She was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, First Reformed Ladies Guild, Francis Creek/Rockwood Senior Citizens, Whitelaw Senior Citizens, Manitowoc Senior Citizens, past president of the omen’s Auxiliay of Otto-Oas VFW Post 659 of Manitowoc, 444 leader of the Branch Busy Bee’s for many years and the Branch Good Cheer Homemaker. Olive enjoyed baking Bohemian pastry, gardening, playing cards, knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband: Carl J. Laveck of Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Carl T. (Jane) Laveck of Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Cheryl (Dr. Donald) Domrath of Branch; six grandchildren: Jennifer Laveck of Madison; John Laveck of London, England; Zachary (Heather) Domrath of Orlando, FL; Carrington Domrath of Cincinnati, OH and her fiance: Brandon white; Kate Laveck of Boston, Ma; and Emly Laveck of Milwaukee; one sister-in-law; Mabel Laveck of Manitowoc; one niece; Beverly (Dale) Gilbertson of Manitowoc and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; Marjory Walsworth Dethlefson an infant brother: Alvin Kutil; and a special nephew, James Walsworth.
Relatives and friends may call at the First Reformed United Church of Christ on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Jens family Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Laveck family.
The family wishes to express their gratefulness to her caregivers Sherry and Shay during the past several months and also to the Visiting Nurse Association.
