Death late yesterday afternoon took the wife of another county pioneer, Mrs. Frederick Meyer, for 67 years a resident of Manitowoc county, practically all of which time was spent in the town of Manitowoc Rapids, passing away at her home in the town of Kossuth. She was 83 years of age and was born in Hanover, Germany, coming to the states and directly to Manitowoc county in 1862.
Mrs. Meyer, nee Mary Breyer, was married to Frederick Meyer in 1873, the couple observing their 50th wedding anniversary six years ago. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Henry Meyer, on the home farm in the town of Manitowoc Rapids; one adopted daughter, Mrs. George Lussow of Oak Park, Illinois.
Always a lover of the home and a devout member of the Reformed church of Branch, Mrs. Meyer was active in church circles and was for many years a member of the Ladies Aid Society.
Funeral services will be held from the home in Kossuth at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon with services at the Reformed church at Branch later, Rev. Otto C. Menke of the Reformed church officiating. Interment will take place at the
Branch cemetery.
