Mrs. Meisnest Dies at Branch

Mrs. George Meisnest, mother of Prof. Charles Meisnest and Frank Meisnest, teachers in the city schools, passed away at her home at Branch Saturday night, death being due to infirmities of age and hastened by bronchitis from which she has suffered for some time. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the family home at Branch.
A native of Bohemia, Mrs. Meisnest was born in 1838 and came to America and almost directly to Manitowoc county with her parents when twelve years of age. Since that time she had been a continuous resident here and was well known and much beloved by a large circle of friends.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Meisnest is survived by eight of eleven children of the couple, Mrs. Mary Fetzer of Nebraska, Elizabeth at home, Mrs. Louis Bleser of this city, John who has made his home on the homestead, Fred of Seattle, George, Frank and Charles of this city. Mrs. Joseph Sladkey and Mrs. Joseph Knop of this city are two surviving sisters. Two grandchildren, George and Randolph Stoehr have made their home with their grandparents since infancy.
