GEO. MEISNEST DIES AT HIS HOME, BRANCH

George Meisnest, resident of Manitowoc county for almost three quarters of a century, died at his home at Branch at 10 o'clock Sunday morning. Death was due to old age but Mr. Meisnest was conscious up to the last and the end came as a gentle sleep does to a tired person. The funeral will be held tomorrow, Tuesday afternoon from the home at 2 o'clock, the Rev. A. O. Menke officiating.
Mr. Meisnest was born in Wittenberg Germany August 17, 1833 and would have been ninety-one at his next birthday. He came to America and located in this city in 1853 and two years later moved to Branch where he has resided since. In 1859 he was married to Mary Krall, the widow who still survives him and the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1909 and in 1919 had a diamond celebration on the occasion of their sixtieth wedding anniversary at which the children, grand children and great grandchildren were present. Besides the widow, eight children, twenty grand children and seven great grand children survive. The children are: Mrs. Mary Fetzer of Louisville, Nebraska, Mrs. Louis Bloser, residing on a farm near this city, Lizzie Meisnest at home; John Meisnest, on the home farm, George, Frank and Charles of this city and Fred Meisnest of Seattle, Washington.
