DELORES M. WERNECKE
Delores M. Wernecke, age 76, of 1600 S. 18th S., Manitowoc, entered eternal
life on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 1, 2009, at her residence.
Delores was born on Jan. 4, 1933, at Athens, Wisconsin. She was the daughter
of the late Arthur and Elsie Kattke Lehman. She graduated from Lincoln High
School with the class of 1950. Delores had been employed as a medical secretary
at Family Service Associates. On Nov. 19, 1974, she married Lloyd O. Wernecke
at Wesley United Methodist Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on
Sept. 4, 1990. Delores was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church and a former
member of the Ladies of Immanuel.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Lloyd on Sept. 4,
1990; her aunt and uncle who raised her: Florence and Irving Luckow; one brother:
Eugene Lehman; one cousin; Robert Luckow; two pet dogs: Shadow and Ebony.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Immanuel Ev.
Lutheran Church, 916 Pine St., Manitowoc. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul
Schossow and the Rev. Nicholas Maglietto with burial to follow at Branch
Evergreen Cemetery, town of Manitowoc Rapids. Relatives and friends may call
at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m., and then
at the church on Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial to be directed to Immanuel Ev.
Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
Delores, God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be so He put his arms
around you and whispered, “Come with Me.”
