Shane O. Sutton, 74, of Junction City died on Friday, June 15, 2012 at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City, Kansas.

Shane was born December 4, 1937 in Pineville, Missouri to Charles L. and Jessie (Goulden) Sutton.

He lived in Bennington and Manhattan prior to settling in Junction City, KS in 1974.

He attended the Junction City Church of the Nazarene prior to becoming a resident of Valley View Nursing Facility where he resided until his death.

Shane participated in many activities sponsored by Big Lakes Developmental Center including Special Olympics where he was awarded multiple medals and ribbons. He also, through Big Lakes Developmental Center, was employed by Orscheln Farm & Home Store and a Fort Riley Shopette. He was a client at Big Lakes Development Center from 1974 until he retired in June 2009.

He enjoyed holiday and family gatherings and delighted in watching his nieces and nephews play.

Shane is survived by a sister, Mrs. John (Vanetta) Brumbaugh of Abilene, KS, a brother and sister-in-law Dean D. & March Sutton of Shafter, CA, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Jessie Sutton, a brother Donald Sutton and his bother-in-law John Brumbaugh.

Cremation has taken place and Shane will be laid to rest at the Bennington, Ks cemetery at a later date.

A memorial service will be held at the Junction City Church of the Nazarene (J C Naz), 1025 S. Washington, Junction City on Thursday, June 21st, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Jim Bond officiating.

The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the J C Naz Preschool,PO Box 1487, Junction City, KS 66441 or Big Lakes Developmental Center for handicapped adults,1416 Hayes Dr Manhattan, Kansas. 66502
