She met and married her soulmate, Jack, in Salt Lake City, Utah,on May 3, 1962. They were parents to six children, 25 grand-children and 2 great- grandchildren.
"Lita" loved the youth — taking in foster children, running a home daycare for 11 years and working with Cub Scouts and the youth in her church.
Valita graduated from Stevens Henager Business College and worked for an insurance company before marriage. She loved being a stay-at-home mom and caring for the children and the house. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held positions in various organizations. She enjoyed gardening,crafts, fishing, reading, putting puzzles together, sewing, her religion and family get-togethers.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jack Prisbrey, four daughters and two sons: Tammy (Earl) Keysaw of Kinnear, Wyo.; Wendi(John) Muzzy of Casper, Wyo.; Katrina (Tony) Sanchez of Casper,Wyo.; Jason (Jessica) Prisbrey of Eckert, Colo.; Jalita (Lawrence)Sanderson of Montrose; and Jeremy Prisbrey of Casper, Wyo.
Valita is also survived by her siblings, Karen Isenberg, Sherrie Perry, Teresa Peterson and Mike Higley, as well as 15 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hyrum and Reah (Hope)Higley and her daughter, Davida Prisbrey.
Services were held Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Delta Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Valita was laid to rest at the Olathe Cemetery.
