Reuben Lee Johnson, 56, was born January 13th, 1956 to the late Augusta Wilson Johnson and Norman H. Johnson, Sr., in Lynchburg, VA. Reuben (affectionately known as Rudy or Rudy Lee) was educated in Lynchburg City Schools and graduated from E. C. Glass High School. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy; and retired after 20 years of service as an E6 QM1 (Quarter Master). Rudy had a natural knack for structure, organization, cleanliness and integrity that allowed him to act as a mentor to many young Naval Recruits. Reuben was known as a dedicated "Packer-Backer" (Green Bay Packers fan), who loved motorcycles, Jazz Music, the latest gadgets and spending time with family and friends in California, Virginia and abroad. He enjoyed Italian, Mexican & Soul Foods and was great at Cooking Out and preparing seafood himself. His illuminating smile and contagious laugh will forever live in the hearts and minds of those that loved him. Dedicated family and friends are joyous that he kept in contact over the years and never let the physical distance between them affect their bonds. He took pride in all of his four children, whom he loved deeply and always spoke highly of. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Annie Johnson and his brother Ray Wilson. Reuben passed away at his residence in San Diego, California on May 30th, 2012 along with his loving daughter Aaliyah True Johnson. Reuben leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Regina Renee Johnson, his son Jahmal Antionne Stamps (Courtney) of Atlanta, GA and two daughters Qiana Niche' Hawkins and D'Leesha Maria Russell of Lynchburg, VA. He is survived by four brothers Norman Johnson, Jr. (Cordine), Ronald Johnson (Rhonda), Donald Johnson and Juan Johnson of Lynchburg, VA. As well as four sisters Joyce Marie Johnson of Washington, D.C., Debra Spinner (John) of AltaMonte Springs, FL, Rita Reeves of Las Vegas, NV and Denise Johnson-Waldron of Oxon Hill, MD. He also leaves behind four grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who love him and will forever cherish the memories of their time together.

A Celebration of Life service was held on Tuesday, June 12th at 11am @ The Rock Church in San Diego, CA for Reuben & Aaliyah Johnson.
