Following her graduation from St. Albans High School in 1979, she immediately went to work at the WV State Capitol Complex. She attended Washington Street Church of Christ, St. Albans and was a former health claims processor.
Sonya had been a very out-going and compassionate person until injuries received during a domestic violence event changed the focus of her life.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by
her daughter, Jessica D. Bailey of St. Albans;
her granddaughters, Savannah, and Zoey;
her sister, Kelly Campbell of St. Albans;
her niece, Samantha Chandler and her husband, Todd.
