William Tyre Jones, a son of the Hon. Jethro Jones and Celia Watson, died from pnemonia in 1923. After his father's murder, William (the eldest son) took over as president of the first bank in Whitesburg which was organized in 1907.
When electricity came to Whitesburg, the Jones brothers installed an electric corn mill. Sadly, the mill was destroyed by fire in 1926.
The Jones family all worked as cotton brokers. They each built a fine home in Whitesburg and are buried in the Whitesburg Cemetery.
