April 15, 1920, the earth was blessed with the miracle of Renee Crandall Curtis, born to George and Ella Larson Crandall. She had two brothers: Carl and Kent Crandall, both deceased. Renee went to Springville High School where she met her sweetheart Carl Curtis. They were married on May 3, 1939 and sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti LDS Temple on May 27, 1954. The happiness and love they enjoyed remained a constant through their marriage that lasted 60 years. Their pride and joy was their children: Terry Curtis of American Fork; Patricia Curtis Barker of Springville; and George Curtis of Springville. They built their home in Springville and have enjoyed tending to their beautiful yard, many flower beds, garden, and fruit trees. This was their -Paradise- as they called it. They enjoyed gathering their family together for backyard dinners under the beautiful walnut trees.

Renee loved to sew clothing for her daughter, she loved to be outside, she was a wonderful gardener, she loved nature, taking long drives and looking at the beauty around her.She was a perfectionist at everything she did. She had a keen mind and a real knack of ingenuity to make things last. She was a hard worker. She loved to travel. She spent a lot of time seeing new places: many trips walking the beaches in California, Canada and Victoria; Eastern states: Massachusetts, Boston, New England and Maine. She went on a show boat to see the whales in the North Atlantic Ocean, and she has seen the beautiful light houses all along the Atlantic. Hawaii, Colorado, Kentucky and Tennessee were among some of her more recent favorite places she visited.

She had such an amazing way of serving and caring for her husband, children, family and all around her. Her family will forever be grateful for the wonderful mother and grandmother that she was. She was an incredible example of the spirit of giving; she showed such selfless love, service and devotion to her friends, family, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed being a homemaker. Her home was filled with peace and love. She has had the opportunity to serve in the church as a primary teacher, MIA president, Relief Society President, visiting teacher, and many other ways within the church through her constant volunteering to help in any capacity that she could. She served in many community duties which included the Lady Lions club president, Home Culture club, Para Pasu, and she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Her legacy of husband, kids, grandkids, friendships, service, faith, and love for the gospel; gardening, flowers, clouds, chewing gum, ice cream, chocolate, shopping, jackets, going out with her daughter, spending time with her family, playing with her grandchildren and mountains of love and service to everyone will remain with us always.

She is survived by her beloved sons and daughter and their spouses; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

My mom was there with a listening ear, each day I called to hear her. My mom was with me day-by-day my journey rough or sweet. My mom was with me in her heart where ere my wanderings took me. You will always be my very best friend, the sweetest name I have ever heard is she is my mom. Love Pat.
