Funeral services for Beatrice "Bea" M. Roush 88, were held at 1:30 pm Monday at the Roland Funeral home with the Rev. Gary Sheely of Lewis Church of Christ officiating. Mrs. Roush died Friday night at the Atlantic Care Center where she had lived since Oct. 4, 1977.
The daughter of John and Myrtle Ann Walters Doty, she was born March 15, 1898, near Weston and reared in Lewis Attending schools in Lewis. Her marriage to Robert "Bob" H. Roush took place June 23, 1921, and she was a member of the Lewis Church of Christ.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Betty Minor of Council Bluffs; three sons, Robert D. Roush of Council Bluffs, L. Gordon Roush of Denver, Colorado, and Dale Roush of Avoca; 13 grandchildren; eight great grand children; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Tye of Griswold and Mrs. Ken (Pauline) Strenger of Fremont, Nebraska; a brother, Dale Doty of Oakland; a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in Oct. 1960; a daughter, Cleo Shahan; her parents; two sisters, Christian and Bernadette.
Randal Breckerbaumer sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden" and Mrs. Walter Lyon was organist. Mr. and Mrs. Roderick Kunze were in charge of flowers. Casket bearers were harold, James and Clarence Conn, Roderick Kunze, Robert Jobe and Tom Pope. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery near Lewis.
