George Edward Battoe was born November 2, 1923 in Linton, KY and passed away on June 18, 2012 in Tulsa, OK, to join his wife of 67 years, Eva Mae Battoe, son Steven Battoe, and granddaughter Teresa Battoe. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Frazer-Fitch, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great -grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He will be dearly missed by all.
George was the firstborn child of George Franklin and Willie Mae Allen Battoe. George married Eva Mae Schlarbaum on May 8, 1943 in Oklahoma City after meeting in Weatherford, OK where she was attending College and he at Tinker Air Force at Boot Camp. He was enlisted in the United States Army and served in England, Germany and France during WWII until he received an Honorable Discharge on December 14, 1945. George graduated from the Spartan School of Aeronautics in 1949 and was employed by American Airlines for over 30 years until his retirement.
A celebration of George's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on June 25, 2012 at the Memorial Park Cemetery chapel, 5111 South Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK 74145 under the direction of Gary Kelley's Add'Vantage Funeral Service. www.garykelleyfunerals.com
