Born in Turin, Ga., he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Arnold.
He ran a heating and air conditioning business in Greenville for 35 years.
He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a founding member of Southside Fellowship.
Surviving are four daughters, Susan Mashaw, of Virginia Beach, Va., Carol Dearybury, of Greenville, Ann Hunnicutt, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Pam Smith, of Taylors; a brother, Hamilton Arnold, of Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sarah Beatrice Lipscomb.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at noon, officiated by Dr. Walter Handford at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
